John oversees all legal, HR and recruiting efforts at Metromile. Prior to joining Metromile, John was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at OpenTable. In addition to serving on the executive team, he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s legal, HR, recruiting, fraud and risk teams, as well as the Chief Compliance Officer. John holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a BA in Business/Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
James Moorhead leads all marketing efforts including digital acquisition, public relations, content, social media and email communications at Metromile. Previously, James was the CMO at Dish Network where he led marketing and market research, advertising and public relations. Before joining Dish Network, James held senior marketing roles at Procter & Gamble for 11 years and oversaw Old Spice during its brand revival. For his past work, Adweek’s Brandweek editors named James as the 2010 Grand Marketer of the Year and Advertising Age named him to the 2011 Creativity 50. His team’s TV commercials have received many awards, including two Cannes Grand Prix, the Grand Effie and the Emmy for Best Commercial.
Jose brings over 13 years of experience designing and developing scalable and highly available software solutions. Prior to Metromile, Jose was VP Software Development at AisleBuyer. After AisleBuyer’s acquisition by Intuit, he served as development lead for the GoPayment mobile payments application. His earlier work included contributions to TIBCO Software’s application virtualization and cloud computing platform as well as Novell’s ZENworks systems management product suite. Outside of Metromile, Jose continues to try to scare himself with cheesy horror movies.
