A “Qualified Referral” is defined as a verified quote made at metromile.com by a person (a “Referred Customer”) who arrives to our website by clicking a Refer-a-Friend program link from another person (“Referrer”). Referrer is limited to one Qualified Referral for each Referred Customer; in other words, additional/repeat quotes made by a Referred Customer are not counted as additional Qualified Referrals. Referred Customer must receive their rate to qualify for the referral reward. They do not need to sign any documents or sign up for insurance in order for Referrer to receive reward. Any Referred Customer that has received a Metromile quote within the past year will not count as a Qualified Referral.
REFERRAL OVER THE PHONE
If Referred Customer gets a quote online, and calls to finish purchasing, Referrer will still be qualified for the reward. If Referred Customer begins the experience on the phone and receives a quote over the phone, this does not count as a Qualified Referral. At this time, we cannot accept referrals over the phone.
The Referred Customer and the Referrer cannot be the same person. The Referred Customer must have a different email address, along with a different driver’s license number than the Referrer.
To earn referral rewards as a Referrer, the Referred Customer must have a valid driver’s license. The Referred Customer must see a rate for pay-per-mile insurance in order to qualify for the reward. A Referred Customer is only eligible for a reward if they live in California and complete a Qualified Referral.
Rewards are payable in the form of Amazon Gift Cards for the amounts shown on the Referral page, which will be emailed to the same email address provided on the referral page. Rewards will be emailed in 2-3 weeks after the Referred Customer receives a verified Metromile quote. The maximum amount of reward cannot exceed $100 per person per calendar year for Referrers and $10 per person per calendar year for Referred Customers (only available where applicable). You are responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from Referral Rewards.
Eligibility is limited to individuals only. Metromile’s Refer-a-Friend Program cannot be used by businesses for affiliate lead generation. Metromile employees are not eligible to participate in the Metromile Refer-a-Friend Program.
You must comply with all up-to-date “SPAM” laws. For example, emails must be created and distributed in a personal manner and bulk email distribution is strongly discouraged. Any distribution of your referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial email or “spam” under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate termination of your referral account and exclusion from Metromile’s Refer-a-Friend program.
RIGHT TO DISCONTINUE USE
Metromile reserves the right to discontinue use of the Refer-a-Friend program of any Referrer and/or Referred Customer if the Referrer and/or Referred Customer attempts to use the Metromile Refer-a-Friend program in a questionable manner or breaches any of these Terms & Conditions or is in violation of any Metromile policy, or any law, statute or governmental regulation.
RIGHT TO CANCEL PROGRAM OR CHANGE TERMS
Metromile reserves the right to cancel the Refer-a-Friend Program or to change these Terms & Conditions at any time in its sole discretion, by posting updated terms here. Any unclaimed referral rewards will be forfeited at such time when Metromile cancels the Refer-a-Friend program.
